Our family

About Us

A Catholic family raising eight children on a little piece of land.

We're a husband and wife with eight children, a homeschool at our kitchen table, and a little piece of land that always needs more work than we have hours. Our days are full, loud, and ordinary, and we've come to believe that ordinary days are where most of life actually happens.

Why "Many Many Toes"

Count the shoes by our front door and you'll understand. A guest once looked at the pile and said, "That's a lot of toes." The name stuck. It's a small reminder that every one of those pairs belongs to a person entrusted to us, and that a home is built one day, and one pair of shoes, at a time.

What we write about

  • Full House: the work, order, and joy of a large family
  • The Property: animals, gardens, and projects on the land, including the ones that don't go as planned
  • Homeschool: how we teach, what works, and what we've changed along the way
  • Faith at Home: prayer, feast days, and living the liturgical year as a family

Who's writing

Most posts come from Dad, a homeschool teacher who works for the Church and served in the Air Force before family life took over. Mom writes too, and every so often one of the kids takes a turn.

We aren't experts, and this isn't a how-to site. It's an honest record of what we're learning, written for our own family and for anyone walking a similar road.

A note on privacy

Our children appear here by nickname, and we keep the details of where we live to ourselves. We want to share the life, not the address.

Say hello
